Delayed and long check in, lifts painfully slow and nearly made me miss my flight home as it took about 30 min to get to the ground. Breakfast or Arches food definitely not 5 star quality. Whilst in good central location, the hotel is in desperate need of a major upgrade.

Not a great experience this time. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a bad urine smell outside the ground level entry and into the foyer. It was there for the duration of our stay. Staff at reception were great as usual. Room was good. However only 1 lift was working and we waited 20 minutes for the lift on level 25.

The wait for the lifts was far too long. I have only stayed at the Swiss when I come to Sydney but the lift situation would make me change hotels. The only reason I didn’t give zero score was that some staff came to the rescue after waiting 20 minutes and took me down the service lift.

25 minutes waiting for a lift to get to the lobby is unacceptable and not good enough not to inform ahead of time that the lifts are not working

I've stayed here many times and rarely have an issue with anything. Service is top class and the rooms are great. Only one minor and one major issues this time. Minor was the bathroom - the shower would flood the bathroom if the rainfall head was used. But the major issues was the lifts. One out of the three was under modernisation and on the day of checkout it appeared that a second had gone down. This left people waiting over half an hour for lifts. Being on the 25th floor, we thought the lifts would come up empty, but people were catching them up rather than waiting for them to come back down. I saw the same lift come up three times in about 30 minutes, always packed full of people. It was a relief when staff started getting guests to the goods lifts, but this was started too late and wasn't really organised well. I would suggest opening the goods lifts for peak times for the duration that the single lift is being modernised - it would certainly create a better impression on guests, that you prioritise service and guest experience.
