Took the Nankai line from airport to Namba station & to our surprise it's just a few steps away to the lift area leading to Swissotel lobby. This is a big relief for tired travelers in the chilly Jan weather. Check in was a breeze, though we had to wait a while for the rooms to be ready, we got directed to the executive lounge to rest first. Rooms were stylish & large compared to other hotels, though the toilet design could be further improved in the next round of renovations. Breakfast at level 36 was a real treat each morning, you get fantastic views of the Osaka skyline, with a quality food spread that will satisfy the most picky guests. Room keeping & cleaning was up to standard. Special thanks to Dipesh in our first part of the trip, & also Marco who kindly assisted us with a room change in our 2nd stay.

I stayed 7 nights at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka with two children during the peak holiday season (Christmas & New Year). Unfortunately, the overall experience was far below the expectations of a five-star hotel. Check-in The check-in process was not smooth and took approximately 30 minutes, despite extensive email communication for nearly one month prior to arrival, up to 7 days before check-in. This was particularly disappointing as we landed around 10:00 PM after a long flight with young children. Breakfast The breakfast selection was limited compared to other five-star hotels, and the service quality did not reflect five-star standards. Some staff appeared unwelcoming as breakfast time approached the 10:00 AM cutoff, even though the hotel was fully informed from the beginning that we were staying 7 nights with two children. Staff Awareness & New Year’s Eve (31 December) Staff members were poorly informed about the New Year’s Eve events on 31 December, which should have been a key highlight for guests staying during this period. Executive Lounge The Executive Lounge was very basic and did not justify a five-star designation. Staff attitude felt indifferent and unprofessional, more in line with a three- or four-star hotel. This facility is not recommended, especially for guests expecting premium service. Conclusion This was my first and last stay at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka, particularly during peak season. Given the pricing and brand positioning, the level of service delivered was disappointing and below expectations.

Though was upgraded to junior suite, facilities in the room are outdated. Many times I tripped on the round carpet below the bed.

The hotel itself is too old which needs a lot of renovation especially the bathroom. It’s dated and tired the unit bath is like we are staying in a cheap business hotel. The carpets are very old and pillows are terrible. We stayed in a junior suite room, but the sofa area is too dark. We stayed because of the location only however we will not come back again because we feel depressed to stay here. The doorman is excellent.
