The staff at the hotel, from the reception team to the restaurant and bar staff are very helpful and friendly. This is the biggest asset for your hotel. I also liked the central location with easy access to the MRT and all the wonderful attractions in Singapore. Most great hotels, even when they are very large, manage to maintain a sense of relaxation and calmness in the reception areas and in the restaurants. Unfortunately, this hotel doesn't. Reception is very busy, even late at night and can feel quite chaotic. Worse is the Clove restaurant - breakfast in there is like eating in the MRT: on arrival for breakfast you have to queue, then once shown to a table , one must again queue to join the train of people circling the breakfast buffet in the hope of finding something to eat, but the real problem is that it’s almost impossible to have a conversation over breakfast due to the cacophony caused by the awful acoustics in the room.

It was lovely to receive the warm “welcome back” from familiar staff at L65, especially Ronald and Kai. This is what makes us return to this hotel, time and time again. Unfortunately can’t score a 10 because experience at the executive lounge has been affected by disrespectful guests who don’t adhere to the lounge's standards and there are no clear notices in the lounge (besides the letter in the room) to help them be aware of the guidelines for proper dress code and no speaking loudly on mobile phones etc. And a new disappointing change we were told at Willow Spa is that guests are only allowed one rather small locker, which is impractical and unreasonable. And the attitude from one of the manager at the spa was not helpful and quite unpleasant.

We have opted to check in online and thought there will be a priority check in counter for us to ensure a seamless process. However, to our horror, we have to queue behind a line despite doing the above. As such, we thought that the check in process have some room for improvement. With that being said, we thought that the stay was amazing and would definitely consider choosing swissotel again.

Check in was long on National Day but that was to be expected. Room 58 was perfect for NDP!

It was unfortunate that the room given to me had faulty air conditioning. I was no fun that I was perspiring in my hotel room non stop. As a Diamond member, I was also not informed at check in on my privileges, despite me reminding the staff if my membership was properly captured in the system.
