I offered this trip to my husband, it was his dream to go to Makkah. I chose the swissotel for its proximity and for being comfortable because it is a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately we encountered several problems.. it seems that we were assigned a smoking room, there was a very unpleasant smell of cold tobacco. Moreover, one of the water bottles available was open, which lost our confidence. And finally the duvet was in a bad and dirty state. We realized this on the first day, as soon as we arrived we performed the Umrah, we were exhausted from the travel + omra sequence and finding all these dysfunctions accentuated our disappointment. We shared this with the manager, who did not apologize, just proposed a change of room. It was late, our suitcases undone and clothes tucked away in the dressing room, we had no strength left to change rooms. We asked for compensation for all the inconvenience suffered, it was refused. Only a change of room was possible. I visited the room that was proposed to us, it was slightly larger but we could no longer see the KAABA. That's why we didn't change rooms, the extreme fatigue and the view we had was better. The next day we asked for compensation again, such as a free breakfast. .. we were told to pay. The customer relationship is deplorable, paying even when the hotel is in dispute is not worthy of a 5 star. A small gesture from them and we would have been satisfied. Conclusion. Loss of confidence. Poor customer service. I will not return to this hotel again, nor would I recommend it to my relatives.

This is my third stay and I feel Standards are slipping. I put my bin out around 12am, it still wasn't emptied till 10am. Also housekeeping only did what they were prompted to do, they did not use their initiative and set the beds like they used to. My second day breakfast - most of the items is picked were cold, emmen though it is supposed to be hot food. We like staying at the Swissotel Makkah because of its convenience and the 5* rating. Also on the first day at breakfast, we were 5 people, when my brother tried to sit at a table he was advised the table was only for b"VIP". I'm sure if any tables were reserved for VIP guests they wild be cordoned off indicating such, this table was in the middle of the dining room and family was sat on the other side, they didn't look executive to me, they looked like us, "normal people". Otherwise I get much enjoyed my stay.
