Zurich, May 2010

From now on discerning business and leisure travellers can enjoy 347 renovated guest rooms and suites that, with their new look, leave nothing to be desired. Further investment work to the tune of CHF 2.2 million has also been carried out at Swissôtel Zurich to enhance sustainability.

The Swissôtel Zurich in Oerlikon has undergone extensive renovation work, giving it a new appearance with a captivating modern, contemporary design. The harmonious, lightsuffused guest rooms look as good as new and offer a stylish ambience. Fitted with modern, customised furniture and a soothing colour scheme in shades of beige and green, the rooms have surprisingly graphic details, and the well-thought-out colour scheme is also reflected in the bathrooms and corridors.

“Various measures, such as the installation of energy and heat recovery systems and the conversion from oil heating to the Zurich Nord district heating supply, for instance, have enabled us to meet the Kyoto Protocol requirements already,” says Marc Ohlendorf, General Manager at Swissôtel Zurich. “This allows us to offer our guests a product that is not only modern, but also completely sustainable.”

The luxurious first class superior hotel has 347 rooms and suites. Two restaurants and a lounge & bar cater for the guests’ well-being: the Dialog – a fine dining restaurant, the Szenario – a restaurant with a relaxed bistro atmosphere, and the Edison Lounge & Bar – a venue for both international and local guests. The Amrita Spa & Fitness on the 32nd floor offers a breath-taking view of the city and the Swiss Alps. A total of 19 conference and meeting rooms accommodate up to 1,000 people and, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, natural light and air-conditioning, number among the largest of their kind in Zurich.
