Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has appointed Jürg Siegenthaler as its new Vice President Marketing & Sales. The 51-year-old, who until recently held the post of Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing for Kempinski Hotels & Resorts, is taking over from Petra Götting who is leaving the company at the end of the year.
Jürg Siegenthaler began his career at Swissair, where he held a variety of positions over the course of 22 years, finally holding the post of General Manager from 1993 to 2002. Prior to that, his international duties in his role as Head of Sales & Marketing and as StationManager took him to Turkey, France, Germany, Russia, Spain and Gabon in central Africa.
From 2002 he worked as Executive Vice President Marketing & Sales for Thiel Logistics AG in Luxembourg. Then, in 2005, he was appointed Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing for Kempinski Hotels & Resorts in Geneva. Born in Switzerland, J. Siegenthaler completed an MBA in International Business and a Master of Science (MSc) in Transcultural Management in St. Gallen.
