During my check in, i was disappointed that the person assisting check-in rejected my early check-in and insist I only can come back at 3pm despite seeing me struggling with my toddler I am a Gold Marriot bonvoy member but yet i got such an attitude. He did not even offer the free upgrade until i ask him.

The Swissotel Stamford is centrally located in Singapore, close to all experiences. The rooms were immaculate and well maintained with plenty of space. The hotel staff were beautiful, always willing to help and polite. I had an amazing time.

I booked a suite to celebrate both my birthday and solemnization. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations, which was particularly disappointing given the significance of the occasion and the hotel’s esteemed reputation. I appreciate your time in reviewing the detailed feedback below, as I believe these insights may help improve future guest experiences: Check-in Experience Arrival Time Inquiry: I received an email asking about my arrival time. When I replied with 12 pm, I was informed check-in was only available at 3 pm. If early check-in is unavailable, a straightforward reminder about the check-in time would be clearer and avoid miscommunication. Check-in Location Confusion: We were directed to level 65 for a more “private check-in,” only to wait and be told to return to level 1. If this premium check-in service isn’t consistently available, it may be better to manage expectations upfront. Room Experience Bed Comfort: The mattress was extremely firm, resulting in back pain for both of us. Additionally, the blanket was uncomfortably heavy. Investing in more comfortable bedding, such as Sealy mattresses or equivalent, would greatly enhance the sleep quality for guests. Outdated Room Design: The room’s design feels dated, and the bedside power sockets are USB-A/B, which is increasingly incompatible with modern USB-C devices. Additionally, the standard power outlets are placed in inconvenient locations, making it hard to charge devices near the bed or sofa. Updating these features would improve overall convenience. Special Occasion Setup: Despite booking the suite for both a birthday and solemnization celebration, no personalized touches were provided — only a plate of fruit and a bottle of wine left without clarification on whether they were complimentary. A more thoughtful gesture or personalized acknowledgment would have added to the experience. Minibar Absence: It was surprising to find no minibar, snacks, or soft drinks in the suite, especially as a Gold member. A well-stocked minibar is generally expected in a suite of this caliber. Water Setup: The only filtered water provided was located in the bathroom using reusable plastic bottles. For convenience and comfort, offering water in the main room or providing glass bottles would enhance the guest experience. Entertainment Options: The TV offered only a limited selection of news channels, with no streaming apps like Netflix available — despite the TV being a Samsung model that supports such apps. Offering streaming services would greatly improve in-room entertainment, especially for guests celebrating special occasions. Automatic Curtains: The curtains were challenging to operate and didn’t function properly. Ensuring these features work smoothly would prevent unnecessary frustration. Bathtub Fixture Issues: The bathtub’s sprinkler didn’t work, leaving only the tap functional. Additionally, the hot/cold water controls were unclear, making it difficult to adjust the temperature. Room Service Miscommunication: I requested cleaning for the living room at 2 pm to prepare for our solemnization. Despite this, housekeeping arrived early in the morning and entered the bedroom instead. After cleaning the bedroom and bathroom, they left without touching the living room — which I had to clean and set up myself. Clearer communication and attention to special requests would have made a significant difference. Fruit Flies: We noticed fruit flies in the bathroom, which was unpleasant and unexpected for a suite. Breakfast Experience The breakfast offering was disappointing for a five-star hotel. Most of the items appeared to be frozen and reheated, except for the egg station, fried noodles, and congee. A fresher, more diverse selection would better align with the hotel’s premium positioning. I truly value the reputation of Swissotel and had high expectations for such an important occasion. Unfortunately, this has turned out to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to help improve both the service and guest experience moving forward. Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to discuss this further.
